Death Case

Process of repatriation of dead body to Nepal

1. At first, dead body is taken to Coronors Court of Australia for postmortem by Australian Police, if further investigation is required.
2. The next of kin/relatives of the deceased person should contact any funeral company and hand over the case for the purpose of repartriating dead body (Funeral companies charge certain fees). The funeral company prepares all the required documents as well as makes all arrangements to repatriate deceased remains to his/her country or criminate in Australia, with the consent of the family of the deceased.
3. Funeral Companies/any related persons should submit following documents to the Embassy or Honorary Consulate Offices via email for "No Objection Certificate" (NOC).

• Copy of passport of deceased person
• Death Certificate
• No Public Health Risk Certificate

4. The Embassy/Honorary Consulate issues NOC after receiving the above-mentioned documents without any fee.

Translation

The Embassy can provide an unofficial translation of Nepalese driving licence, citizenship certificate, birth certificate, marriage registration certificate etc on Embassy"s letter-head. Fee applicable AUD $ 75

If the applicant needs Verification/Certification/Attestation/Authentication of the documents, a verification letter from the issuing authority should be provided to the Embassy along with the document. Fee applicable AUD $ 75

Consular

The Embassy, in keeping with the spirit and letter of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, 1963 provides services to the Nepalese nationals in need.

Note:

The fees paid for the service must be used within one year. Repayment will apply if service has not been rendered by any reason within a year.
