Travel Document

Nepali national who doesn"t hold a valid passport and is in urgent need to go to Nepal may apply for one-way travel document which will be valid for three months.

Requirements for a Travel Document:

1. Duly filled-in application form for TD (Download form)
2. Two identical most recent passport size photographs
3. Original Passport if valid
4. One copy of Nepali citizenship certificate and passport each
5. For new born baby, copy of Nepali citizenship and passport of parents and copy of birth certificate of baby are required instead of Nepali citizenship certificate.
6. Fee for Travel Document: Australian dollar 75.00
7. If applying by post, Money Order/Bank Draft in the name of "Embassy of Nepal, Canberra" and a self-addressed (write your address in the recipient side of the envelope) postage-paid Express envelope. (The Embassy will not be responsible for lost/undelivered posts)

Processing Time: Same day if the required documents are submitted at Embassy in person (own self or authorized person) . If documents are sent by post, around 7 working days once the Embassy receives the documents. In case of urgent need of Travel Document, sending documents by post is not advisable.
