Governor-General of Australia Conveys Condolences to Nepal

Her Excellency Ms. Sam Mostyn, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, today visited the Embassy of Nepal in Canberra to convey her heartfelt condolences and solidarity to the people of Nepal following the devastating recent floods and tragic loss of lives.

During her visit, Her Excellency signed the condolence book and expressed her deep sympathy to those who have lost their loved ones, homes and livelihoods, as well as to families still searching for missing people. She also acknowledged the dedicated efforts of emergency responders and volunteers supporting affected communities.
The Governor-General expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Government of Nepal in assisting Australians affected by the disaster and reaffirmed Australia’s warm and enduring friendship with Nepal. She conveyed that Australians stand in solidarity with the people of Nepal during this difficult time and extended sincere sympathy and support to all those affected. 

The Chargé d’affaires Ms. Tara Gautam received the Governor-General at the Embassy and expressed profound appreciation for this gesture of solidarity and compassion on behalf of the Government and people of Nepal.
