Birth and Death Registration

Vital Registration (Birth and Death Registration)

Baby born by Nepali parents in foreign country can get Birth Registration Certificate. Similarly, any Nepali who dies in foreign country can also get Death Registration Certificate (If necessary). Such certificates of vital event should be obtained within 35 days of event occurred.

Birth Registration

Required Documents:

  1. Copy of Citizenships and Passports of parents of newborn baby
  2. Copies of Australian visa of parents (Father and Mother)
  3. Any proof issued by concerned Hospital/Medical institution if born in hospital or Proof of first vaccination if born at home
  4. Duly filled up birth registration information form, https://public.donidcr.gov.np/
  5. The applicant (Suchak-Father or Mother) should be present in Embassy in person with above mentioned original documents along with Token No. generated after submission of online form.
  6. Amendments and copies can be obtained only for the Birth Certificate issued from Embassy.

Death Registration

Required Documents:

  1. Copy of Citizenship Certificate or Passport of deceased
  2. Copy of Australian visa of deceased
  3. Copy of Citizenship Certificate or Passport of Applicant (Suchak-Father, Mother, Husband, Wife, Son or Daughter of family member above 18 years of age)
  4. Death Certificate issued by concerned Hospital of Medical institution if person died in hospital.
  5. Duly filled up death registration information form, https://public.donidcr.gov.np/
  6. The applicant (Suchak-Father or Mother) should be present in Embassy in person with above mentioned original documents along with Token No. generated after submission of online form.
  7. Amendments and copies can be obtained for Death Certificate issued from Embassy.

Fees:

  1. Free of cost within 35 days of event occurred (Birth and Death)
  2. AUD 40 after 35 days of event occurred (Birth and Death)
  3. AUD 50 for copies or amendment of documents once issued by the Embassy

 (EFTPOS facility is available where 1.10% is applied as surcharge per transaction.)

Processing Time:  Same day once the Embassy receives the documents.
